 Lifestyle Home Newborn

What should I have prepared?

•Before our session, try and keep baby awake as much as possible. Baby can be given a bath, play time, and try feeding your little one about the time I am due to arrive. This will help give us a full sleepy baby. If baby needs to eat again during our session that is okay! Feed on demand. If this is something you would like to incorporate into your session please let me know.

•Try to stay away from eating spicy, dairy and any other gassy foods if you are breastfeeding at least 72 hours before the session. The number one reason newborns are fussy is because they have upset tummies.

•After their feeding please make sure they are burped really well to avoid gas and changed into a clean diaper so they are happy and comfortable.

•Baby can be swaddled in just a diaper or swaddled with a onesie you'd like for him or her to be photographed in. If you chose to have baby wearing a onesie please make sure he/she is dressed before our session so we do not disturb a sleeping baby trying to get him/her dressed.

•Most of the session will take place in baby nursery so I do ask that all curtains and shades are open to let in all the natural light. This also goes for any room you would like to photograph in. I do like to includes parents master bedroom or the living room. Somewhere where the family can get nice and cozy. You just had a baby so your house does not need to be spotless! I don't mind if you have dishes in your sink or laundry folded on your kitchen table but I do ask that for any places we are photographing, if there is clutter if it could just be organized and put away for your photos.

•Be prepared for me to be at your home for about 2 hours.

•If your baby has hair, please wash it the morning of so it is not greasy.

•Have your AC turned up to 74 degrees 30 minutes before my arrival so we can keep baby cozy and warm. This help put baby in a deeper sleep.

•Set aside anything special you would like to incorporate into your session for me to look at when I get there. A special baby blanket, heirlooms, etc.

•Please have my questionnaire filled out as soon as possible to help guide me through your session with anything particular so I can be aware of any desired "poses" or if I may need to bring any of my items like Stretchy wraps, head ties, hats, or a basket. I do like to include a few solo styled shots of baby.

•Be patient! If baby is upset that is okay. We will work with them and take our time. These moments of soothing a baby can make some really great photos!!

•Have fun! What is better than baby snuggles and family bonding time.

•If you are not ready by the time I arrive to your session that is okay! This is your day. Moms deserve their time to get ready for this special day. I start off photographing the nursery then add baby into the photos. As long as baby is ready when I arrive we are set.

Studio Newborn Session

Before the session

Please try to feed the baby before arriving at the studio.Babies with full tummies are always happy and sleepy by the time we are getting ready to shoot and this will make it easier for everybody. Have the baby dressed in something that snaps or ties and doesn’t have to come off over their head like a onesie. We want clothing removal to be as easy as possible.

Try to stay away from eating spicy, dairy and any other gassy foods if you are breastfeeding at least 72 hours before the session. The number one reason newborns are fussy is because they have upset tummies.

Also keeping your baby awake prior to the session contributes to having a soundly sleeping baby during the session. If your baby has hair, please wash it the morning of our session so it is not greasy.

Don’t Forget

Be sure to wear light clothes, as I keep my studio very warm for the comfort of your baby. Feel free to bring a book, snacks ( You’re going to be here a while! ) and anything that you would like to incorporate in the portraits…i.e. a blanket, a stuffed animal, etc. I do have everything we could possibly need here.

Make sure you don’t forget to pack these in your bag :

- pacifier

- extra wipes

- milk/formula

- wet wipes

- extra clothes / extra blankets / burp clothes etc

Fresh 48

What should I have prepared?

•Relax! Don't worry if theres anything that needs to be moved like hospital bags and paper work, with your permission, I will do it for you.

•Stay in touch!I do ask that you keep me posted on labor and delivery details so I know that baby is and has made his/her arrival. After baby has made his/her grand arrival we will discuss a time and day for me to come. Please save my phone number once we book your session! You can also give this job to dad so you can relax with your new bundle of joy.

•Make sure your bags are packed with the attire you want for your session (a special robe, pajamas, or a cute top). A fresh 48 session can also be done in your hospital gown! Wear something that will be comfortable for you! Please make sure dad has an outfit that goes with the outfit you choose. Preferably no logos.

•Please have your questionnaire filled out at the time of booking your session so I can be aware of any sibling meetings, etc. This will help guide me through your session.

•Baby can be swaddled in just a diaper or swaddled with a onesie you'd like for him or her to be photographed in. If you chose to have baby wearing a onesie please make sure he/she is dressed before our session so we do not disturb a sleeping baby trying to get him/her dressed. I do love photographing newborns in just a diaper & swaddle of your choice (could be a hospital blanket or one of yours). I think it really gives that raw organic vibe of a fresh 48.
