Literally trying not to tear up while writing this. You see... Baby Raegan has the best big sister ever, she is watching over her from heaven. I met this beautiful couple when I had a contest a few months ago to giving away a free maternity session. Gabby won my maternity session and told me this is her second pregnancy and that they lost their first baby at 33 weeks due to a cord accident. The moment she told me this my heart sank and I just knew she was destined to win my maternity session. When we started talking I felt an instant connection with her. I had so much fun during their maternity session!! Fast forward to present time, little miss Raegan was due in October which was her big sisters due date month. Haylee's first birthday just passed in September (born at 33 weeks) and Raegan decided she wanted to make an appearance in September too!! Mom told me her big sister must have been watching over her because Haylee had the cord wrapped around her neck and Raegan's cord was so short she had to be placed on moms belly before cutting the cord. Seriously, goosebumps. That happened and it's real. She has had her guardian angel since day 1 of conception. I am seriously SO happy for Gabby & Nick to have their second daughter safely in their arms. I had the pleasure of photographing Baby Raegan less than 24 hours old for a fresh 48 session at the hospital.

Shortly later, I got to come to their home and capture a home newborn session for them. Her nursery was SO beautiful, decorated with geometric shapes and succulents. There were so many heirlooms in memory of her big sister surrounding their entire home and nursery. Of course we had to incorporate some of those into her session. Walking into their home I noticed this beautiful homemade succulent heart shaped wreath that was used for Baby Haylee’s funeral. I had to use it! The moment I set up that photo and captured the set with Raegan in the wreath, it was emotional. I also found a quilt draped over Raegan’s rocking chair, that quilt was specially made with big sister Haylee’s onesies. DONE, had to use it. I am so happy I got to include her big sister into these photos. This is something mom and dad will cherish forever. On top of these super meaningful and adorable photos of miss Raegan, I got to capture mom and dad loving on their baby. Their dog Tucker, was such a camera hog it was hilarious.
